Soviet Early WW2 Sidecap (Pilotka)

This Soviet “Pilotka” is an early war wool or “baika” version dated 1941. Straight from a Russian veterans house this Pilotka is rare being an early type, especially considering many early war items were destroyed at the front!

Nicely stamped and in good condition this Pilotka only has one small field-repair and a few small spots where it has been in contact with corroded metal.

Soviet star has been wartime replaced with a 1943 bimetallic replacement.
