A really nice ‘Cushman 53 ‘ Airborne motor scooter, used by airborne troops like the ’82nd & 101st Airborne Division.
This Cushman 53 has been complete restored, with ‘New old stock’ parts.
Chassis number 34091.
High end restoration!
Few remaining , with only 4,734 build in 44 and 45.
A reall keeper, great condition and a great driver.
The cushman was light and compact enough to be airdropped in an airborne operation. Overall weight was 254lb/115kg.
The 16M71 1-cylinder, four-stroke 242cc engine developing 4.6 horsepower, made it possible to reach speeds up to 40mph- 65km/h.
This Cushman was produced in oktober 1944 by Cushman Motorworks in Lincoln (Nebraska).
Cushman Motorworks handled production of both engine and scooter from 1944 till the end of the war.
