Here we have a very unique and complete grouping belonging to Obersteurmann ‘Walter Holke‘. Holke was commander of the U-Jäger 312 which operated in the Crimea during WW2. Holke was promoted and recieved a citation for hunting and destroying a Soviet submarine while patrolling Crimean (near  Sevastopol) waters. All the photos (more than 100+) are unique in the fact that they portray Holke and his unit in training, rest and even battle! Many have great shots of his Holke and his crew, also some while training on a sailboat. Some photos portray an attack on a Soviet merchant ship, also with survivors abandoning the ship itself. Together with this Photo grouping we also have Holke’s Minesweeping (+Security patrol & Submarine hunting)  badge (unmarked and in super condition) and award-document plus his citation of the hunt and destruction of a Soviet submarine. All in all a very interesting grouping of a not all to well documented Kriegsmarine detachment in occupied Russia!

Super Kriegsmarine grouping!
